UPD 2026 Host Teen/Family Application Process

1. Teen Application Section (Online) 

2. Parent/Guardian Application Section (Online) - Once the teen portion of the application has been completed, a link to the parent portion of the application will be emailed to the parent email address that was provided on the application.

3. Teen Essay (Completed by teen only) - Once the teen portion of the application has been completed, you will receive an email with instructions for completing the essay portion of the application.  Your essay should be a minimum of one page double-spaced  and should be emailed to applyupd@gmail.com upon completion.

4. Names and contact information of references (Two reference names for teen and two reference names for family) - References should be submitted as part of the Teen and Parent/Guardian Applications

 There is a required host teen and parent interview session and home visit. Each teen candidate must participate in this session. 

Letters of acceptance will be emailed once all candidate applications have been reviewed, references have been contacted, and interviews have been conducted.
